| Description |
This course introduces you to the Extensible Mark-up Language (XML) and gives you an idea of its potential and how companies are using it to solve their document management and distribution problems.
First, the instructor presents a case study showing how XML has been used to make information more manageable, authoring more intuitive, and delivery on the Web more powerful. Next, the standard itself is covered, followed by a discussion of areas where XML can be used to solve document management problems.
After a basic introduction to the standard and its syntax, a discussion of how XML can be used to manage information is discussed. This includes not only how XML can be used for managing documentation, but also how XML can solve non-document-specific information management problems like dynamic, personalized web-site updating, electronic data interactions with other companies, and creating an application datagram interchange format.
You leave this course with an understanding of the standard, its syntax, and its use.
