Description

This intensive course covers all of the basic installation and implementation topics you need to know to get started with OmniMark’s Network Programming products.

The course starts by explaining the purpose of the OmniMark server technology, and how you can use it to make three-tier Web architectures and provide your customers with a compelling, personalized session. Several case studies are shown from a technical perspective, so you can see how others have used OmniMark to enable powerful Web sites.

OmniMark does this by providing a rich set of libraries to access server-side resources and combine relational data, SGML and XML documents and external information in an intelligent, personalized way.

Other areas of OmniMarkr are explored, including:

  • Mail library (SMTP, POP3)
  • Database library (ODBC and OCI)
  • System functions (date/time and file system)
  • Internet protocols (HTTP and FTP)

By the time you finish with this course, you will be able to go back to your office and create a multi-service OmniMark Newtork Programming application. Your site can then provide a personalized information source for your customers.
