| Description |
This course teaches advanced topics in OmniMark by using real-world problems that have been solved with OmniMark. This course is similar in format to Introduction to OmniMark and acts as an extension to it, but is designed to give you the tools you need to solve your real conversion problems, using OmniMark, right away.
The main topics covered in this course are referents, functions, and XML and SGML document processing. There are "holes" in the course that are designed for customization by the instructor. We can use actual data examples to give you a "kick-start" in building your own advanced OmniMark programs. Also covered in this course: RTF in a word-processing environment, table conversions, XML, catch and throw, OmniMark CGI programming and database connectivity. Learn about debugging with the OmniMark Integrated Development Environment.
The four-day course includes many examples and opportunities for you to create real programs to process your data. The OmniMark "process" model is discussed. This gives you an introduction to OmniMark's ability to create powerful enterprise solutions to document conversion and information management and delivery.
This course assumes that you have some knowledge of XML and are familiar with the terms "ELEMENT", "ATTLIST", "content model", and "DTD" and have an idea how they work. There is a short XML and SGML review during the class to refresh your knowledge. |
